Owners Renee Henderson and Gary Smith realize great pleasure in finding that desired piece or addition for you. Traveling often and handling complete estates as well as single items of virtue throughout the east coast they buy, sell, and arrange the sale of fine antiques and collectibles.
Renee, a native of Morehead City, North Carolina is a licensed geologist holding a BS from Western Carolina University and is well versed in the field of antique jewelry. She also is an accomplished photographer and artist working in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe. Her abilities and special training gives her "the eye" for well executed art. Renee has correctly identified "Papillon II" an etching by Louis Icart and previously mislabeled platinum pieces of fine jewelry saving her client from making grievous financial errors.
Gary, a native of East Tennessee, is licensed as an auctioneer in Tennessee and North Carolina and is an accredited personal property appraiser. He uses the USPAP guidelines as required by the US government, financial institutions and insurance companies. Gary is a current member of The Certified Appraisers Guild of America, and National Auctioneers Association Gary's interest in antiques began early in his life in the Appalachian mountains. This love continued through his military service and BA studies at Francis Marion University. Gary has successfully arranged sales for numerous items such as one of the heaviest Gorham sterling tea sets known to date (412 Troy ounces), a ca. 1807 Bernard Cermenati looking glass, and an early American carved Mercury figurehead attributed to The Skillin Brothers of Boston.
